Intel Core X HEDT Processors Release Schedule Detailed

Intel announced their Core X Series HEDT processors at Computex 2017. We now know the actual release schedule for these processors. The first way of these processors will include two quad-core SKUs, and one each of 6-core, 8-core, and 10-core which will be available from the 2th of June.

Intel Introduces Kabylake-X, Skaylake-X, and X299

We’ve been hearing about Intel’s Kabylake-X, Skylake-X, and X299 platform for quite a while now. I don’t think a week has gone by in the past month where we’ve haven’t talked about it. Now we have official confirmation on all of the details! Intel says the new platform is their “most scalable”, meaning that it will have CPUs with a little as four cores and all the way up to 18 cores, yes 18 cores!

Intel Coffee Lake CPUs Could Be Compatible With LGA 1151 Motherboards

Well a new piece of information has surfaced from our earlier report on Intel’s 6-core Coffee Lake CPUs showing up in SiSoftware Sandra. It appears that these CPUs could be backwards compatible with LGA 1151 motherboards on Intel’s 200 series chipsets (and even 100 series chipsets).

AMD Starts Selling The Ryzen 5 Processor Family

Today, officially AMD Ryzen 5 processors are available. This lineup from AMD is designed to compete with Intel’s Core i5 quad-core “Kaby Lake” processors. The Ryzen 5 family is made up of 6-core and 4-core parts that are carved out of the 14 nm “Summit Ridge” silicon.

So we’ve seen reports on AMD’s 16-core, 32-thread and 12-core, 24-thread high-end desktop (HEDT) processors. While these processors will be used in conjunction with AMD’s upcoming X399 chipset, the CPUs will be called ThreadRipper according to the latest reports.
